IEP Advocacy
Many parents of children with special education needs in public school have found it difficult to secure the best resources and education to feel confident their children are receiving an appropriate education. If your child is receiving special education at his or her public school, ABEDI provides advocacy for your child’s IEP (Individualized Education Program).
In accordance with the federal Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, our goal is:
To ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs and prepares them for further education, employment, and independent living (20 U.S.C. 1400 (d)(1)(A)).
We are not attorneys; however, we are experts in the special education process. We will partner with you to help ensure your child is getting the special education services he or she needs and is entitled to by your public school. We can assist with:
- negotiations with the school
- providing information about special education options and requirements
- helping you seek specific services or programs
- review documents, help prepare for and attend IEP meetings
